Natal Francolin

(Francolinus natalensis)






Other Names: Pternistis natalensis

Subspecies/Range: Two sometimes recognized; F. n. natalensis - Southern Zambia to coastal Nata; F. n. neavei - Northern Zambia to western Mozambique. A third race, thamnobium is not generally recognized.

Habitat: Dry woodlands.

Status in Wild: Locally common.

Avicultural Data

Status in Aviculture: I have no information of this species in American aviaries.
