Tibetan Snowcock

(Tetraogallus tibetanus)




Range: The Himalayas - Tajikistan, western Tibet, Northwestern India, Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan, eastern Tibet and southwestern Sichuan.

Subspecies: T. t. tibetanus, T. t. aquilonifer, T. t. henrici, T. t. przewalskii

Habitat: Alpine and subalpine zones.

Status in Wild: Not well known, but believed to be stable and not threatened.

Avicultural Data

Status in Aviculture: No data or reports of this species in American or European aviculture.
