Additional Information

Breeding Season:

Breeding Age:

Clutch Size:

Incubation Period::

Description - Male: Males have black throat and eye band, surrounded by white; back of neck, breast and belly mottled white, brown and black, giving a scaled appearance.

Description - Female: Females have a buffy face with dark band through the eye, lower breast white with brown chevrons.

Status in Captivity:

Misc Notes: I have found conflicting reports regarding this species in captivity. They are not Masked Bobwhites, which are a distinct subspecies of the Northern Bobwhite Colinus virginianus. Past articles report this species in American aviaries in the early 1980s, but their where-abouts, status and purity is unknown.
